The Pasadena Tri Club is leading a Group Riding Series for new cyclists interested in improving their general riding skills and preparing them to ride with more experienced cycling and triathlon club members.
Going out on a ‘club ride’ can be intimidating and confusing to newer riders. The Group Riding Series is designed to teach the basics, improve fitness, and increase confidence.
The Group Riding Series is an nine week long program, meeting on Saturdays at 8AM at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center.
Specific skills to be taught:
Group riding – Commands, warnings, etiquette, rules, confidence
Shifting – Proper gearing for the situation
Hill Climbing – How to deal with climbs, both short and long
Speed – How to go faster and keep up with a group
Distance Riding – Spending time in the saddle, eating & drinking on the road
Maintenance – Basic bike maintenance, what’s needed in a bike bag, changing flats
